Audacia are excited to be attending the Leeds Digital Careers Festival, which takes place on 15th September 2022 at the First Direct Arena. The event runs from 2-7pm and is a great opportunity to find out about exciting opportunities in the tech industry.
We'll be sharing some of the great opportunities that we have available with Audacia. Whether you’re coming with years of experience, or have never worked in the tech industry before, everyone is welcome to drop by and find out more about what we have to offer.
The Leeds Digital Careers Festival arrives at a time when the city’s status as a thriving digital hub is becoming recognised. In recent years, Leeds has become one of the UK's most promising tech hubs, a place where collaboration creates innovation.
In Leeds, the tech sector employs more than 100,000 people and contributes £6.5 billion to the city region economy. Events like Leeds Digital Careers Festival and the upcoming Leeds Digital Festival are a testament to the strong tech community that exists within the city. It's something that we have been proudly a part of for the past 12 years — and many more to come.
Yorkshire, more widely, has continued to be on an upward economic trajectory post-pandemic, with a further 42,000 digital tech jobs and £1.6bn estimated to be generated for the region by 2025. Forecasts like these show why Yorkshire has the fastest growing tech sector in the UK.
Audacia has always been a proud ambassador for careers in tech, something that is evidenced in our annual Academy programme. The Academy is a 3-4 month long intensive training programme with options for Full Stack Development, Software Testing and Front End Development. It covers everything from the basics, up to moving on to a real project at the end of the programme.
The roles are full-time permanent job contracts, with a career beyond the end of the programme. Academy members will remain Audacia employees for as long as they wish, and will have the opportunity to move into different roles that fit their skills and interests.
This programme gives people with no previous experience in software development an opportunity to learn about, and join, a growing Software Development & Digital Transformation company. Only two weeks ago we welcomed our latest Academy cohort.
In the Academy programme, academy recruits learn a range of technical skills, including coding in C# and non-functional coding requirements, plus non-technical skills such as Agile delivery practices.
The training is conducted by Senior Audacia Consultants and Developers through seminars and hands-on sessions. Modules are also delivered by other industry experts within the company.
With the long-running success of this programme, Audacia is once again opening up applications for prospective 2023 academy members. We have roles available in Front End Development, Full Stack Development and Software Testing.
